[00:00:00] My name is Colin Mitchell and welcome to sales transformation, a daily podcast with the best moments from the most respected people in the sales world. [00:00:20] And now to David to tell you what you can expect in today's episode.

[00:00:29] Too many sales trainings, it can complicate things. Simplicity is the key. That is how Greg presented his book. And that is how he sees trainings should be. And this third round with Greg key and calling will be discussing how he can transform to a better seller in this simplest way. [00:00:54] Let's dig in a little bit, you know, um, to how something that we kind of touched on that I want to go a little deeper on is, you know, these people that are maybe used to selling a particular way, that's more transactional, you know, How, how are, what are some things that they can do to sort of transition into being more of this type of seller that we've been talking about?

[00:01:18] Okay, great question. So I think I mentioned earlier that, um, you know, there's a lot of great sales training out there. Um, the problem is a lot of it's complicated. Uh, there's a lot of complicated terms and. Techniques and all kinds of stuff. And people just give up and say, I'm just gonna go back to selling the way I've always sold.

[00:01:40] So what I tried to do is develop something that was effective. Um, but adoptable, you, people could use it. And that is to focus on three things, problems, people and processes, buying processes in particular. Right. And so. Um, in each of those three chapters in my book at the end, I talk about the strategies.

[00:02:06] Then I have a series of, um, exercises where you sit down and you say, okay, so what are the key problems I solve? What are the opportunities I make available? So just walking you through step by step, how do I make this mine? How do I, um, um, take these three elements? And incorporate them into my day to day selling.

[00:02:33] The other thing is, you know, we talked about processes is there are kind of four primary processes. I mentioned that sellers need one is, um, prospecting, which is different. It's more like marketing, um, there's call management. How do I manage an interaction? Um, opportunity management, how do I win a deal?

[00:02:52] And lastly, um, pipeline management, how do I manage my pipeline so that I'm effective. And so if you follow those processes and bring in the strategies, that's how you start to get better and better at following, you know, real selling and not product pitch. Yeah, I think that, uh, you hit the, the nail on that.

[00:03:17] there's a lot of good sales training. Right. But a lot of it is complicated. And, and the thing that drives me nuts about a lot of sales training is, is really what exactly what you said, right. Is a lot of it is hard to adopt and then the even bigger. Problem is there's a lot that Contra, you know, they get on board with one framework or way of selling and then another one comes out or you read a new book or something.

[00:03:43] And, and a lot of it contradicts each other and you're like, I don't know what to do. And like you said, sellers are just like, I'm just gonna go back to the way I was doing it before. And so I love how you just really broke it down in a really simple way. Um, That people can, can implement. Thanks for tuning in to today's episode.
