The goal of this show is to give you a daily dose weekends included in 10 minutes or less to help transform the way you sell. I hope you enjoy today's episode.

[00:00:20] And now to David to tell you what you can expect in today's episode.

[00:00:29] It's round three folks. And this time Collin, get himself on the hot seat. As Josh is the one asking questions. It's call in cold calling. As he talks about the hard part of cold calling the challenge with young people these days, why you should count your small win. Josh has some of his own bits to add onto, but you gotta tune in to find out over here in sales transformation.

[00:00:56] When it, when it comes to cold calling, what do you, what have you found? Like some things that absolutely work every time or not every time, and then some things that you're like, whatever you do, don't do this. What, what if your, yeah, so that's the hard part, right? Because, so if you do everything right on a cold call, It still might not go well.

[00:01:18] no, like it's just number one. Not everybody picks up the phone. Right. Everybody's connected their devices. There's younger people. They'd rather you send 'em a text or whatever. So like there's only, there's less people that are actually likely to pick up the phone in the first place. Right. Yeah. So there's that.

[00:01:34] Um, and, and, and then like, it, it all depends on how you structure your call. Like the biggest thing is your mindset. Um, the framework that you follow everybody's like, what's the perfect script and it's like, doesn't exist. The perfect script is whatever script you're most confident. In delivering. Right.

[00:01:50] And that's why, when you were talking about, uh, your sales experience that you had, where it was like, here's the script, you know, stick to the script and it's like, they're putting their words in your mouth and like you're never gonna feel comfortable or confident or authentic in delivering that. So like, There's a framework to follow, but they gotta be words that like you would use or that you feel comfortable saying.

[00:02:11] Um, and so that's why that sort of like dictatorship sales, leadership of stick to the script doesn't work. Um, and so that's the hard part is most people also go into a cold calling block with, um, improper expectations. And it's like got a book, a meeting, got a book, a meeting, got a book, a meeting, and it's like, you gotta count the small wins like me calling if I cold called you right now and found out that like, you're genuinely.

[00:02:35] Do not need help with your podcast. And you're happy with how things are going, dude, that's a win. I don't have to call you again. Now. I know I can refine my list, you know? And, uh, and then the other thing is if you learn something new on the call, you know, maybe you're like, yeah, we're super interested, but you know, that's really not me that decides that you should reach out to this.

[00:02:56] I didn't get a meeting, but like I learned something new and now I can reach out in a, you know, more of a warm way. Um, so people are just so have their heads wrapped around. I gotta, I book the meeting and I think they're only successful if they've booked a meeting and there's so many other wins in that activity, um, to keep you know, positive and have a good mindset into doing it.

[00:03:16] Um, cuz man, nobody wants to pick up the phone. Most people are, have phone reluctance. I could tell you when I said I enjoy it. You. Cringed. You're like, what? Why really? yeah, I mean, um, I, I was decent at it, but I definitely didn't enjoy it. Right. Like knocking on doors in, in Florida or even in New York was not fun.

[00:03:37] Cold calling people is not fun, especially like. Especially if you're having a bad day at the house, or if you're, if you're, you know, need to make a sale to, to pay bills or something like that. Yeah. That's, that's not fun when, when you're in that spot, but when you have something really cool to share with people, or you're excited about chatting with them, then it could be cool, right.

[00:03:57] When you're not in need of something, when you're not needing to, you know, make the next sale or whatever, then it gets kind of cool. Thanks for tuning in to today's episode.
