[00:00:55] All right. Welcome to another episode of sales transformation. Today's gonna be a solo episode where I'm gonna give you five simple, cold calling tips. Now, if you've been following me or following me on LinkedIn, you know that I'm a big fan of cold calling. We even have the weekly sales cast live, live cold calling show where we make cold calls using monster.

[00:01:20] Which allows us to do a whole day's worth of prospecting in one hour. And we get awesome data from our friends over at cloud lead. Um, I'll include the links there, the show notes. If you wanna check either one of those out, let 'em know that we sent you and they will hook you up, but let's get into it.

[00:01:37] All right. So number one, be selective with your prospects and what do I mean by that? Well, have. Be very meticulous with your list building. Don't just buy a big list or put in some broad LinkedIn sales navigator, um, parameters and start calling them. Look for triggers or signals as Jamie shanks likes to say, um, reasons to call right.

[00:02:05] For us, maybe they have a podcast. Maybe they've recently guessed on a podcast, maybe, um, things like that. So have a specific trigger or event or reason to give these particular people a call when you're building that list. And then number one, practice your. Now I have to admit in the cold calling show, we don't do this cuz we're typically just trying different frameworks all of the time, but practice your script with some colleagues.

[00:02:31] Um, get some practice reps in, get comfortable with it, make it your own. This is an important one. I'm a big fan of scripts, but I'm also a big fan of sellers having an autonomy and creativity. In making something their own, using their own words, their own language so that they're comfortable with it. And this is a big one.

[00:02:51] Focus the attention on your prospects, make the conversation more about them. Ask them questions, lean into that. Don't make it a big. Sales pitch, cuz nobody wants to hear it. They don't have time. They're gonna get into that zone of resistance and shut down. Okay. So again, be selective. Practice your script, focus on them.

[00:03:18] And then look for the best time to call. You should be able to test this with different segments and different people and try different times to call. Um, this you'll have to do a little bit of work and start to figure out when the best time is to call particular people. and then, um, the next thing is just peak.

[00:03:37] Their curiosity. Everybody goes for the throat or the jugular, and wants to book the meeting so quick. But the goal is just to have conversations with the right people, get information and peak their curiosity with. Probing questions. Okay. So let's re uh, let's, we're gonna be selective with our prospects.

[00:03:58] We're going to practice our cold call script. We're gonna make the conversation about them. We're gonna work on having, finding the best time to call.
