QUOTES

Collin: “The main takeaway here overall, is there's a lot of factors that come into play on whether a particular sales sequence is going to work for you or not, who you're reaching out to, what you're saying in your messaging, what your company does, what problem you're solving.”

Collin: “Don't be overly salesy. Don't pitch features and benefits. Don't even call it an Intro-call, don't even send a booking link.”

[00:00:00] In the world of sales, you either sink or swim or breakthrough to the next level. My name's Colin Mitchell. And this is sales transformation, a new kind of sales show designed to bring you through the epic life-changing moments of elite sellers. So you can experience your own sales transformation.

[00:00:29] Hey, before we start today's episode, I wanted to bring you in on the best kept secret in B2B sales. If you're serious about social selling and your only strategy is cold DMS through LinkedIn, you're missing the mark big time. Learn how I fully managed revenue generating podcast can change your life and your pipeline@salescast.com.

[00:00:56] All right. Welcome to another episode of sales transformation. Today's going to be a solo episode, and I'm going to talk about a outbound prospect you play that you might want to start using. This is a play that we use personally at sales cast, and I've coached many people on using this same play and they get lots of success.

[00:01:16] Okay. And what it is is running a five-step sequence. Okay. And in that sequence, the first step is a custom email with a video. Now I know there's a lot of folks that say, never send a video in the first touch, but don't listen to what other people say, have your own experience. I don't know if my play is going to work for you.

[00:01:41] But it might, and you'll never know if you don't test it. Okay. So the main takeaway here overall is there's a lot of factors that come into play on whether a particular sales sequence is going to work for you or not, who you're reaching out to, uh, what you're saying, you're messaging. What your company does, what problem you're solving.

[00:02:07] And then the biggest thing is how you're showing up and adding value. All right. So let's break it down. Step one, send it. And when they, when you send this email, you want to add value. The framework is that you want the prospect to think that, you know, something that they don't know, and that there's value in having a conversation with you.

[00:02:34] Don't be over salesy don't pitch features and benefits. Don't even call it a. You know, intro call don't even send a booking link. Okay. You're sending a video. You're going to send one to two sentences in this. I'll give you an exact example of how we do this. Okay. So if we're reaching out to podcast hosts, we might say something like, Hey, I came across your show and I had some feedback that I'd want to share with you on how you could further grow and monetize your podcast.

[00:03:06] Okay. And we're doing. That's a one-line text. And then in the video, we're giving them a piece of feedback, something of value, and we're letting them know that we have more things to share with them. And we wrap it up by saying, we'd love to share some of the things that we've seen work for the 80 plus top B2B podcasts that we manage.

[00:03:27] Let me know if you're open to having a. I'd love to share some of those ideas with you and tell you a little bit more about what we do here at sales cast. Okay. So that's basically the video script. It doesn't have to be exact, but you understand the idea. Okay. I'm being transparent about the fact that yes, I am going to tell you about what it is that we do here.

[00:03:47] So I'm not trying to cover up that it's a sales call and pretend like I'm not trying to sell them anything, but I am leading with value. So that's the first step in the sequence. Now, the second step is we're going to send a LinkedIn connection request if you're not already connected. And in there, the only thing we're saying is, Hey, Joe, I sent you an email on Tuesday about your podcast or about teaching you about this particular thing or whatever the problem is that you're trying to help them with.

[00:04:17] Did you happen to see. And that's the only thing we say there, nothing else we're not asking for time. We're not reiterating what we said. We're just referencing the first step in the second step. And we're going to do that one day after. Okay. Now the next step that we're going to do is we're actually going to follow them on LinkedIn.

[00:04:33] Okay. And this allows us to get notifications. So we're going to hit that bell on their profile. And once you hit that bell on their profile, then. Every time they post content is going to show up in your notifications. And that's an opportunity for you to engage in a meaningful way. And you can do this right away, uh, simultaneously with step two, you don't need to wait.

[00:04:53] Okay. Step four is going to be another email and we're just going to throw it out there and it's, we're not gonna do a bump or anything. Fancy. We're you gonna say, Hey, Joe are curious if growing your podcast is a priority or I'm curious if fixing. Problem or learning about this thing is a priority for you.

[00:05:12] That's all you're asking, keeping it really simple. Okay. And then step five is you're going to engage with their content again. And you're also going to send one more video. Okay. Just following, not just following up, but you're going to be reiterating what you said in the first one and finding out if it's a priority.

[00:05:32] So you're basically taking the messaging from step one and from step four and combining it into a video. And you can send that via LinkedIn. If they've connected with you and accepted your connection request, or you can send it as a reply thread to the email, it's a simple, simple, simple sequence, but we're seeing really good results with this.

[00:05:54] Test it out yourself. I hope that you found this episode valuable. If you did, please write us a review, share the show with your friends. It really does help us to get sales transformation into the ears of more sellers. And you can always give us your feedback over@salestransformation.fm. Hey, you stuck around that tells me you're serious about your own sales transformation.
