[00:00:56] All right. Welcome to another episode of sales transformation. Today. I want to talk about understanding your buyer personas. So, um, if you're in sales, you may have one buyer persona, or you might have multiple, but it's extremely important that you know, these personas. Inside and out, it's going to be the big difference between being successful in your selling role or not being successful.

[00:01:23] Um, and this is very important. So I want to go over a few points in regards to understanding. Buyer personas. So, number one, the benefits here is going to help you develop the niche for your product or service. And it's going to help you understand these people. Uh, what's important to them, the language that they use, uh, things like that.

[00:01:45] So it's extremely important. Um, it's also gonna help you, uh, establish. A target list of accounts or a Tam. Um, the more that you can narrow in on a buyer persona, the more specific you can get about. Who it is that you best serve and also get super clear on who you are not best to serve. That's a hard one for a lot of sellers.

[00:02:09] It's important to know who you serve best, but it's also important to know who is not the best fit for you or for your company to work with. Um, and this is going to save you a ton. Of time so that you can only work with qualified prospects that, you know, you best serve that have a problem that, you know, you are good at solving.

[00:02:30] Um, so you might look at the type of problems that you can solve, uh, that your product and service can solve for people. You might, uh, list out these particular people that have these problems. Maybe it's a specific title in a specific industry in a specific area. Um, these are all good things for, for filtering and targeting your buyer persona, but really focused on the problems that they have.

[00:02:57] That is the most important thing. And this will help you determine your niche. Um, and you'll also start to understand these people extremely well. If you focus your attention to maybe listening to the podcasts that they listened to, uh, joining network groups, that they're a part of my personal favorite.

[00:03:18] Yes. I'm a little bit by. Have a podcast or a video series or whatever, you don't have to over-complicate it. But if you're inviting these people onto a platform to have a conversation, you can ask them any single question that you want. And you're going to get to know them at a deep level. And all of that knowledge is going to be transferable over into every other sales conversation that you have.

[00:03:41] Now I know starting a podcast may seem a little bit overwhelming. But I can tell you, you can do it on a very low budget and you can do it without taking up too much time. And you're going to be building high quality relationships with these people. Well, I'll try not to go on a rant here about starting a podcast.

[00:03:56] I will leave it at that. Okay. Um, but also understand how these people buy. Okay. This is extremely important. It's going to be different, but you might see some, some patterns and it's important to look for these patterns. Okay. Because then you can start to tailor your sales process to meet or match how these particular people within this ident, um, uh, customer profile are used to buying products or services like yours.

[00:04:25] Okay. I hope that this was helpful. Take some time to think about it. You're not going to get this all figured out right away. But the sooner you start to focus on this, the sooner you can start to really dial in who you work best with, and then you can start to put more time and effort into finding the right people and working with high quality prospects that value.
