[00:00:24] All right. Welcome to another episode of sales transformation. Today is going to be a solo episode where I'm going to do a bit of a book review. And just tell you a little bit about some of the nuggets that are in Andy. Paul's new book seven. Without selling out. If you haven't picked up your copy, it's available.

I've been in sales for 10 plus years and there was even some things in here that had me question. If I was selling out or being too salesy. Now I have to admit early on my sales career, I did learn a lot of bad habits that I had to break.

[00:01:01] Um, I was your typical. You know, everything that most people hated about a salesperson in a head to unlearn a lot of those bad habits. But if you've been in sales a while, if you're new in sales, or if you're a sales leader, I highly recommend picking up, sell without selling out from Andy Paul we're even giving away some free copies.

So couple of things to consider if you're selling out, are you pitching with your prospects or you having conversations? Now think about the difference there.

[00:01:40] Pitching means you're throwing up features and benefits and talking at your prospects, but if you go into it with a mindset and an intention of having conversations, you'll have some different outcomes. Are you telling your prospects. What they should do, why they should use you or you asking questions now.

[00:02:02] And when you ask questions in that example, there, you're going to be listening more than you're speaking. And I know for a fact that this is something that all of the top sellers that I've talked to, that I know have always said that listening more than you're speaking. Is a big part of being successful in sales, you learn a lot of things that you wouldn't otherwise.

[00:02:25] Um, now here's one, that's pretty debatable by a lot of people, persuasion. You're persuading people you're selling out. If you're influence people, you're selling in a lot of people in sales think that their job is to persuade or trick people into buying. And your job as a seller is to influence them into making the right decision based on informing them about things and educating them and asking the right questions for them to make a decision.
