My name's Colin Mitchell, and this is sales transformation, a new kind of sales show designed to bring you through the epic life-changing moments of elite sellers. [00:00:24] All right. Welcome to another episode of sales transformation. Today's a solo episode where I'm going to give you some tips. On how sellers can get their stay started off right now. Mindset is a huge component to driving success in your sales role. And there are some things that you want to do in order to have the proper mindset.

[00:00:48] When you show up in your role to be the best version of your. In anything that you do at whether it's prospecting, running discovery, running demo, uh, closing [00:00:59] deals, negotiating, whatever the case is, you want to be in a good head space to drive positive results. Uh, I'm a big fan of having routines. My routine is a little crazy.

[00:01:12] It actually starts the night before, um, where there's a lot of things that I do personally to make sure that when I show up in my sales role, that I am in full crush it mode. And I want to give you some of my tips that I have. These are things that I've picked up along the way. From other people, I've tried many things and you got to find what works for you.

[00:01:33] So what I do necessarily might not be the best fit for you, but if you take one or two of these things and implement them and they work for you, that's a great start. And maybe you would learn some new things from other people, um, that might be better suited for you, but you've got to find what works for you.

[00:01:50] All right. So here we go night before. Uh, I'm a big meditator. I've been meditating for over 10 years. [00:01:58] Um, and I, my meditation routine has changed there's apps that you can use for this. My personal favorite is 10% happier. So ending the night with a meditation is a good, solid, uh, start, uh, making sure that.

[00:02:12] Proper sleep is essential. All right. I can't tell you how many people in sales burn the midnight oil and go full hustle mode and don't get enough sleep. And that's just not the proper way to set yourself up for success. So meditation and getting to bed to get a proper amount of sleep. Um, I recommend getting, you know, six, seven hours, if you can, at least if you can get eight, that's great.

[00:02:38] Um, I'm typically asleep by 9, 9 30. And I'll wake up early. So waking up early for me, I'm the most productive that might not be a good fit for you, but that's what works for me. All right. So, uh, meditating in the evening, um, and getting proper sleep and eating healthy food. Those [00:02:57] are night before things like eating a good, healthy dinner, not snacking late at night, which sometimes I like to do.

[00:03:02] Um, and. Having a meditation practice, getting to bed early to get proper sleep. That's the foundation before the morning routine. All right. So my day starts four 15. I wake up. Um, and from there I have some things that I do, right. Like I go, I get my coffee going. Uh, get my, you know, healthy oatmeal going that my wife helps make for me.

[00:03:24] Um, and I have a journal practice, which I'm not always consistent with and it's a piece that I've really been trying to implement. Um, but it's been super helpful when I can stay on that. Um, but there is some things that. Are consistent. I'll wake up at the same time. Every day for 15, I have my, you know, get my coffee going.

[00:03:44] Uh, I try to get a journal practice and when I can, and then I start my day off with a meditation as well. And these meditations don't need to be long. I'm not talking about sitting for 20, 30, 60 minutes. If [00:03:56] you can just get a practice where you're doing three or five minutes sets, and if you can do 10 minutes, that's fantastic.

[00:04:01] I used to sit longer in the morning and I've actually found that sitting for shorter periods of time and doing it multiple times throughout the day is what's worked best for me. Uh, so find what works for you, but meditation is a huge piece of that morning routine, getting physical. Exercise is huge for me, I'm a swimmer.

[00:04:21] So I go swim, uh, with a master's program. And then before I go into the office, I meditate again to get ready for my day. Uh, so those are all things that have helped me significantly so that I could be extremely productive during the day. And what being, what I like to call full. Crush it and mode now throughout the day.

[00:04:41] There's some other things that I do staying hydrated is so important. I can't emphasize that enough. I drink a gallon plus of water every day. I personally invested recently in a standing desk. It's been one of the best things that I've done. My [00:04:55] energy is higher. I'm not having back pains from sitting down for long periods of time.

[00:04:59] So I highly recommend that as well. So these are all things that have helped me significantly. Uh, in, in boosting my productivity. Um, if you try a few of these and they work for you. Fantastic. But I highly suggest that you find something that works for you. There are a few things that I would say are absolutely essential, uh, which is getting proper sleep, eating healthy.

[00:05:20] And getting some, you know, gaining a small wind in the morning for me, that's the exercise, but take what you think might work for you and find something that suits your lifestyle to get out there and get in full crush.
